Tote offering global pools on 2019 Breeders’ Cup

The Tote is providing UK customers the opportunity to bet into global pools for the 2019 Breeders' Cup World Championships which take place at Santa Anita on Friday 1st November and Saturday 2nd November.

The two-day 14 race fixture offers a total prize fund of $30 million and attracts some of the best horses in the world.  In 2018, 51 of the 221 runners came from 16 countries outside the US and included three British-trained winners.

UK Tote customers will be able to bet into US pools for every Breeders' Cup race with Win, Place, Exacta and Trifecta pools available.

A Placepot and a Quadpot will be available (both hosted by the UK Tote) on the evening of Saturday 2nd November. The Placepot will comprise of the last six Breeders' Cup races, starting 8:54pm and finishing 12:44 am UK time. The Quadpot will be made up of the last four races starting 10.20pm.

In 2018, all three British-trained winners at the Breeders’ Cup paid bigger on the Tote:

  • Line of Duty, winner of the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Turf, paid $4.50 on the Tote compared to a UK fixed odds SP of 3-1

  • Expert Eye, winner of the Breeders' Cup Mile, paid $6.90 on the Tote compared to a UK fixed odds SP of 9-2

  • Enable, winner of the Breeders' Cup Turf, paid £1.80 on the Tote compared to a UK fixed odds SP of 8-13

British-trained runners for the 2019 Breeders’ Cup are split across two races on the Friday evening.  In the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf Sprint Great Britain is represented by:

  • Band Practice (trained by Archie Watson)

  • Dr Simpson (trained by Tom Dascombe)

  • A’Ali (trained by Simon Crisford)

In the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies' Turf Great Britain is represented by:

  • Living In The Past (trained by Karl Burke)

  • Daahyeh (trained by Roger Varian)

  • Shadn (trained by Andrew Balding)

On the Saturday evening Great Britain has eight runners in the following races:

In the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile Great Britain is represented by:

  • Ambassadorial (trained by Jane Chapple-Hyam)

In the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Turf Great Britain is represented by:

  • Billesdon Brook (trained by Richard Hannon)

  • Fanny Logan (Trained by John Gosden)

In the Breeders’ Cup Mile Great Britain in represented by

  • Space Traveller (trained by Richard Fahey)

  • Lord Glitters (trained by David O’Meara)

  • Hey Gaman (trained by James Tate)

  • Suedois (trained by David O’Meara)

In 2018, total pool size for the two-day meeting was $157,445,841, the fifth highest since the Breeders’ Cup adopted a two-day format in 2007 with commingled pools totalling $105,229,197.
